I wanted to share my Vanity/Makeup Work Station.

How awesome is it!!

Its not 100% complete yet but I'm just dying to share!

There is a lot of hype about this Malm Dressing Table & Alex draws on youtube so I knew it was the choice for me! Not to mention CHEAP! 

Ikea MALM Dressing Table:

The Ikea Malm Dressing Table has this clean look about it. Topped with glass & a built in tray for Makeup storage really makes for the perfect dresser.

Hollywood Vanity Mirror:

The hollywood light mirror was not so cheap but totally worth the money! 

I had this order & posted from the UK to my address in Australia. 

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mirror! Its pure luxury! With a built-in dimmer switch powered by a 3 meter cable that adapts into a power point allows you to choose your required lighting setting.

A BEAUTIFUL High Gloss handmade construction that can be wall hung or attached to the stand as I have. It really is the ultimate makeup mirror!

Cala / Pretty Girl Cosmetics Glitters

**MAKEUP LOVERS - DEAL ALERT!**

I came across this brand Calla/Pretty Girl Cosmetics on Esty while I was looking for a Holographic Glitter. I'm happy to say they are amazing! 

This company sells 4grams worth of cosmetic grade glitter in over 50 shades! wow!
I purchased two shades "Tiara" a amazing pure Holographic silver and a black based holographic "Laser Black" which are Cosmetics grade polyester glitter cut to .008" that is safe to use on the face, eyelid or lips.

Cost AU$7.00 each.

Shipping AU$10.51 then approx $1.50 for each additional item.

Unfortunately for us Australians we get stung with high shipping charges but if you are a makeup artist looking for a few great quality glitters for your kit or just love makeup in general. This may be exactly what you are looking for.

****TIP:
When using cosmetic glitter for makeup application do not brush on glitter, it will smear and flake. You are best to pat with a mixing medium or glitter glue.

NYX Nail Polish Mini's & Storage Ideas

CUTE NYX MINI NAIL POLISH SET

Hey Ladies,

How amazingly cute are these mini nail polishes?

Mini bottles of nail polish are perfect for me as I never seem to get though a whole bottle anyways.

I saw these sets on Joy's Cosmetics an NYX ebay seller & knew I had to give them a try!

 Overall I was impressed with the gorgeous colours however they do not compete with OPI or China Glaze for quality & longevity . 

You will need at least 3 thin coats to build up colour.

They are great to use for a night out then removed the next day as they clip horribly! 

If you are looking for a longer lasting nail colour, I would recommend gel polish lasting 2-3 weeks but sometimes will cost you a pretty penny.

Velvetines are a very liquidity product so less is more.
Please note, if you apply like a lipgloss, you will get a mouthful of liquid lipstick haha! NOT FUN

Preparation is the key!

1. Scrub lips to remove any excess dry skin.
2. Apply a moisturizing lip balm. Leave for 10 mins then blot away.
3. Optional, Use a Lipliner to trace your lips. 
4. Wipe excess from Velvetine wand then apply first coat. Allow to dry.
5. Apply second coat - Dries Matte.
6. Use concealer to clean up lip liner with a concealer brush to create a crisp perfect line.
7. Blend excess concealer to complete the final flawless look.

Skin Weft Mesh Vs PU Tape Hair Extensions ** ROGUE **

 Hello Ladies!

I will be showing some differences between these two type of Tape Extensions. 

I'll allow the photos to do the talking so I'll keep this short & sweet.

 SKIN WEFT MESH: 

A machine creates the mesh bond by sewing the hair to the mesh bond then tape adhesive is placed over the mesh to create the final result.

This is the method which I use for my current tape hair extension sets.

PU TAPE:

A PU Tape method adhesive is extremely durable. 
PU Tape is actually a glue type extension. 
Being 100% waterproof it is very strong so careful installation will be required as it will cause damage if done incorrectly.  

DIFFERENCES:

Lets start with the obvious first.

Size difference:
As you can see from the photos below PU Tape is so much slimmer opposed to the bulkiness of the mesh.
PU bond will feel less heavy, you should have more flexibility/ movement also.

 PU Tape / Skin Weft Mesh

**Both 100g/40 Pieces**

 

Shedding:
The positive about the Skin Weft Mesh is that you will get almost NO shedding as the bond are extremely secure.
The positive to that is you can re-tape the mesh extensions multiple times. Hence why I find the best possible quality hair to last 3-6 re-tapes. 

However with PU Tape, (you can of course reuse) you will find they do shed once the tape has lost it's strength which may be 4-6 months down the track after the first re-tape.
I actually only use my PU tape method for the 3 months then want the fullness of a new set.

Easily undetectable:
Both can be easily undetectable if correct installation is applied. (I will be doing a post about application soon)
Skin Weft Mesh may be too bulky for people who have fine hair. I always recommend Pu Tape for these hair types. 

BASIC PROS & CONS

SKIN WEFT MESH

PRO

• No shedding
• Well made
• Holds thick haired sets amazing
• Durable - longevity 
• Great for thick haired people

CON 

• Bulky
• Harder to blend, less flexibility 
• Can easily lose the integrity of the glue/tape. (Multiple reasons why this could be, shampoo, toners, conditioners, oil based products etc)

PU TAPE:

PRO

• Tape is long lasting 
• Easy to use method
• Option for DIY Tape users
• Easy application method
• Great for fine haired people

CON

• Lasts 3 months before needing to top up hair volume
• Hard to be created correctly
• More prone to shedding in later months
• Can damage hair 
• Bonds are extremely sticky

Both these methods provide different needs to different people.

Neither are better than the other, it really comes down to what your needs are.
