I wanted to share how I got two orders of COLOURPOP Cosmetics shipped to me from the Oxnard, California USA to Queensland, Australia.

Colourpop Cosmetics directly do not offer international shipping (as of Jan 2015) so I was super bummed that I couldn't order any of there amazing products! ;(

ColourPop cosmetics is a Indy cosmetics brand making a huge impact on the Beauty Industry for 2015.

I jumped on to the new Australia Post ShopMate website that I recently heard about and signed up.

"HOW IT WORKS"
 ShopMate states on the website

1. Create an account - 

Create an Australia Post account to receive your free ShopMate address in the US. Verify your details in your confirmation email and you're ready to go.

If you have an existing Australia Post Customer Number (APCN), log in with your APCN details to get started.

2. Shop -
Shop to your heart’s content! Now you can buy items from US sites that only ship to US addresses. At the checkout, just use your ShopMate address for delivery.
You can shop at any US store that will accept your payment and ship to your ShopMate address.Remember to check our list of dangerous and prohibited items before you buy.

3. Declare & Pay -
Once your shopping has arrived at our US warehouse, we’ll send you an email. Simply log in to ShopMate, declare your package, pay the shipping costs to Australia and your goods will be on their way to you in no time.
If you’re sending more than one package from the US to Australia on the same day, we’ll give you a “bundling” discount.

4. Receive -
We’ll aim to do everything we can to get your shopping to you within 5 - 8 business days of your shipping costs being paid. Once your shopping leaves the US, you’ll be able to track its progress with ShopMate’s tracking tool.
When it arrives on our shores, your delivery address can be updated through Australia Post’s “My Deliveries".
Won't be home on the expected delivery day? Use a Parcel Locker and simply collect at your convenience!

How do you get your products home?

 ShopMate gives you, your own personal Australia Post Customer Number (APCN) & shipping address - known as a suite number for the Portland Oregon Warehouse.

This can be found in "My Addresses" in your Account Details once you sign up.
This is the address that you must use when you place your order with your chosen company.

*** Be aware some American Sites such as Sephora US do block International credit cards so there are some restrictions on WHO you can purchase from.

However Colourpop is a brand that allows Mail Forwarding services.***

MY EXPERIENCE
Once I complete my registration details & found my forwarding address details it was time to purchase my first order.

First Order:

1.  Placed an order to a total of US $115 from ColourPop website on the 21st of December.
2.  Colourpop completed & shipped my order on the 26th of December.  (website states within 3-5days handling then a further 3-5days for delivery). 
3.  Email received from ShopMate on the 30th of December. Parcel received at the warehouse & action to declare parcel was required.
4.  I paid my charges on the 30th of December A$46.03.
5.  Marked as shipped on the 31st of December.
6.  Parcel arrived SAFETY on my doorstep on the 7th of January.

Second order:  

1.  Placed second order to a total of US $180 from ColourPop website on the 26th of December. 
2.  ColourPop completed & shipped my order on the 29th of December. 
3.  Tracking stated Parcel arrived at the Warehouse on the 2nd of January.  
4.  Email received from ShopMate on the 7th of January. Parcel received at the warehouse & action to declare parcel was required. 
5. I paid my charges on the 7th of January A$36.85. 
6. Marked as shipped on the 8th of January. 
7. Awaiting my next shipment now due -- 14th of January

Declaring your Parcel

Here is where you pay for your shipping charges to Australia. 

1. Log into your Account
2. "My account" Tab
3. "My shopping" Tab
4. Click Parcel & Declare
5. You are required to add in your Order Amount when declaring. Orders over $1000 will incur custom charges.
6. Pay Postage Charges using Visa or Mastercard
7. Once Parcel is Declared you are able to Track item in the "My Tracking" Tab

International Shipping Rates

International shipping rates are A$24.95 per parcel, plus A$5.95 per 500g.
The minimum chargeable weight is 500g, with 500g increments thereafter.

Shipping Rates

 Be aware the Shipping Rates are estimates only.
You will not know the exact payable amount until the warehouse has weighted the parcel & provided you with the invoice.

The uncertainty may deter some buyers.

It does help if you can get free shipping to the warehouse.
Then you are only paying for the shipping to your Australian address.
ShopMate may be an option if you are unable to find the item in Australia.

My Shipping Rates

My first order.

Total Order Value - $115

Chargeable weight for the parcel - 2 . 3kg

Base Charge - $24.95

Weight Charge - $29.75

Repackaging Charge - $5.00

TOTAL = $59.70

MY DISCOUNTED TOTAL = $46.03

My second order: 

Total Order Value - $180

Chargeable weight for the parcel - 0.90kg

Base Charge - $24.95

Weight Charge - $11.90

Repackaging Charge - $0.00
No discount code
 

TOTAL = $36.85

 

I was a little confused to why my chargeable weight for my second order (a much larger order) was highly reduced.

Overall I am very happy with the way the parcel exchanged hands.
In a very timely, professional manner with no damage to my products.

ShopMate Mail Forwarding is a great service to Australians.

I will continue to use this service & hopefully update you all with brands that do allow Mail Forwarding Shipping :)
